Guns N' Fucking Roses - En Santiago

Em Santiago senti uma das maiores alegrias da minha vida. Realizei o sonho de assistir a um show dos Guns N Roses. Ok, ok, sem o Slash a banda perde metade de sua força. Mas a identidade da banda sempre foi claro, Axl Rose.

Fui ao show, (devidamente paramentado, com a bandeira brasileira como bandana, e o lenço preso no cinto da calça) com meu amigo Igor, cearense que está fazendo mestrado em Santiago. Mas infelizmente, não pude ficar no mesmo setor que ele. Quando fui comprar minha entrada, o setor dele já estava esgotado. Tive que ficar sozinho durante o show.

Minha ansiedade era imensa. E ainda maior porque havia esquecido de uma das marcas registradas dele... Os atrasos! o show começou quase 3 horas depois da hora prevista.

Mas valeu a pena! Afinal, fazia 12 anos (!) que eu esperava por aquele show! E foi como aquele recém ex-criança de 16 anos que eu curti o show! Poucas músicas do último disco, Chinese Democracy, mas todas muito boas: Chinese Democracy, Better, This i Love (minha favorita, entre as novas), Sorry e Madagascar. Fizeram cover de "Whole Lotta Rosie", do AC/DC e de "The Wall: Part 2" do Pink Floyd, com Axl no piano! E todos os clássicos: You could be mine, Sweet Child O' Mine, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Patience, Paradise City, Don't Cry, November Rain, It's So easy, Nightrain, Mr. Brownstone, Rocket Queen...

A banda muito boa, bem entrosada, músicos competentes. Três guitarristas, cada um melhor que o outro, pra tentar suprir a falta que faz o Slash, especialmente em termos de presença de palco. E o Axl cantou e dominou o palco o público com o Axl dos velhos tempos!

Mas pra mim, o momento mais marcante do show foi uma música que não passou pela minha cabeça que eles tocariam, e que sempre foi uma das minhas favoritas: ESTRANGED.

Por que é uma das minhas favoritas? Pra começar, tem um solo de guitarra espetacular, com trechos que simulam o som de golfinhos. A letra é perfeita. E o vocal mostra toda a versatilidade de Axl Rose.
